We are queens helping other queens stay mentally well

Need support? Join our Sister Circle? We got you!

Our Sister Circle is right for you if you:

  • Hide your feelings - You tell people you are fine because you just don't feel like getting into it with people who just don't get it.

  • Are tired of being tired - You are no longer willing to hide behind the mask of the "strong black woman."

  • Want support in your journey - You are ready to be more intentional with your mental wellness journey, but know you can't do it alone.

  • Want to live your BEST life - You refuse to stop living your best life due to stress, fear, loneliness, depression or anxiety.

Joining us gives you the opportunity to:

  • Be part of a REAL sisterhood - You are not alone and you should not have to feel like you are. Network and connect with like-minded women who understand your unique plight.

  • Vent in a judgement-free zone - You will have access to our private virtual peer support groups led by a peer who looks like you.

  • Engage in group activities - Whether its a 5-day challenge or a vision board party, you will get the support you need to manage your mental wellness.

About Us

Mindful + Melanated is an online community for Black women who need a safe space to tackle their unique issues around mental health and wellness. We strive to foster an environment where Black women can candidly share their experiences without the fear of being judged. Our mission at Mindful + Melanated is to create and cultivate a community that empowers Black women to achieve and sustain a healthy, balanced life.

We offer support in a variety of ways: an anonymous message board, virtual peer support groups, access to culturally-competent providers, quarterly mental health challenges, webinars, personal development courses, downloadable resources, events, and more.

Regina Renaye Kinney is the founder of Mindful + Melanated, an online community for Black women who need a safe space to tackle their unique issues around mental health and wellness. Regina has been battling depression and anxiety since childhood. Her first suicide attempt was at the age of 12. As an adult, Regina muddled through life wearing a mask to hide what was really going on inside her. For a long time she felt embarrassed and ashamed of her mental health diagnoses. On one hand, Regina often overcompensated for her depression by being an overachiever, and on the other hand she tried to numb her pain by self-medicating. After getting out of a year-long depressive episode, Regina decided to share her story with the hopes of helping other Black women along in their mental wellness journeys. Because she is intimately knowledgeable about how mental illness affects Black women - and knows there is a need for Black women to congregate in a space specifically for them - she founded Mindful + Melanated. Mindful + Melanated offers peer support and access to culturally competent mental wellness resources, providers, and programs. Regina earned her Bachelor's degree in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and she currently resides in Randolph, Massachusetts.
